The History
In origin a Roman fortress, Trassilico developed during the Middle Ages into an idyllic village. 1t attained its greatest splendour during the 17th Century.
Dominating the valley of the Sirchio and surrounded by the rugged crests of the Appennines, it is situated in the Nature Reserve of the Apuan Alps.
From the bottom of the valley at Gallicano a narrow asphalt road winds up to the village perched at 700m a.s.l.
To reach the house
Leaving your car in the carpark at the entrance to the village, you make your way along narrow alleys, past two grocers' shops and a bar with a small restaurant (very good food) to Via Vallisneri 64.
